Īnother Schwartz collaboration, The Wild Mammals of Missouri, was co-published by the University of Missouri Press and the Missouri Department of Conservation. Several other films won awards, including a 1952 CONI Grand Medal for Bobwhite through the Year and the American Association for Conservation Information best North American wildlife movie award in 1959 for Story of the Mourning Dove. ![]() In 1949, Game Birds of Hawaii was published and selected by the Wildlife Society as the best publication in wildlife management and ecology for 1949–1950. Throughout the late twentieth century, the Schwartzes wrote and illustrated books, created films, and made artwork on wildlife and conservation topics. A short stint from 1946 to 1947 was spent in Hawaii studying wildlife conditions for Hawaii's Board of Agriculture and Forestry. Schwartz's career with the Missouri Department of Conservation lasted for thirty-nine years. In 1940, Schwartz completed his MA and began work at the Missouri Conservation Commission as a biologist. They married in 1938 and later had three children. A graduate assistantship during his MA led Schwartz to work with Elizabeth Reeder, a Ph.D. He received his AB in Zoology from the University of Missouri in 1938. Schwartz (JJuly 4, 1991) was an American wildlife artist, biologist, author, conservationist, and filmmaker known for his work on Missouri wildlife. He was later reassigned to Housing PSA 1 on modified duty after leaving a loaded gun in his patrol car.Charles W. Schwartz was then transferred to the 46 th Precinct in the Bronx, based upon poor performance and disciplinary infractions. Schwartz has been with the NYPD since 2003, and was first assigned to Manhattan North Narcotics. His actions have thus far cost New Yorkers at least $25,000. Schwartz has been named in five such misconduct lawsuits that are either still pending or whose status is unknown. These wrongful arrests have engendered numerous civil rights lawsuits. The News also reported on numerous suspicious Vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) arrests by Schwartz that led to dismissals by prosecutors, often without explanation, or that resulted in acquittals after trial. This past Monday, the New York Daily News published an exposé detailing a litany of Schwartz’s professional misconduct. ![]() Until this happens, we will continue to bring media attention to cases where Schwartz has acted inappropriately and has violated our clients’ rights.” Enough is enough – the NYPD must immediately remove Schwartz from any position where he could interact with civilians, and the Bronx District Attorney’s Office needs to immediately dismiss all pending cases where Officer Schwartz is involved. “New York City Police Department Officer Darryl Schwartz is back on full duty in the Bronx – back with his gun and his badge, and in a position where he upends New Yorkers’ lives as he rakes in overtime.
